We're excited to offer small group Reformer, Cadillac, and Chair classes limited to 8 clients per class, designed to bring more variety, intention, and challenge to your pilates practice. Our classes are taught on Balanced Body equipment and are offered in two levels: Foundations & Progressions. About Pilates

Meet The Founder

Pilates is a low-impact method of exercise focused on muscular endurance, control, mobility, posture, and body awareness. It can be practiced on a mat or with specialized equipment that uses springs and resistance to support and challenge movement. Pilates can meet you wherever you are at in your Pilates journey. Many of the exercises can be modified or progressed based on your experience, individual needs, and goals.

Pilates is more than a workout, it's a practice. It teaches you to move with intention, building greater awareness and connection between the mind and body. With consistent practice, Pilates can help improve core strength, balance, flexibility, coordination, posture, muscular endurance, and overall movement quality. It challenges smaller stabilizing muscles that may receive less attention in everyday movement or traditional workouts.

The benefits go beyond the studio, Pilates can help the way you move through everyday life. From lifting at the gym, playing a sport, keeping up with your kids or grandkids, traveling, hiking, or simply just feel better in your body. The goal is to not only move well in the studio, but to support the things you love to do in life.
I'm Lisa, the founder and lead instructor at Align Pilates. Creating this studio has given me the opportunity to bring together everything I love about movement, teaching, and community.

A little background on me: I earned my degree in Exercise Science from the University of Iowa in 2018, where I also competed as a coxswain on the rowing team. During my time at Iowa I worked in group fitness, and after graduating I worked for Iowa Sports Nutrition. Those experiences gave me an early appreciation for movement, performance, and long-term wellness.

After moving from Iowa to Arizona in 2020, I completed my 500-hour comprehensive Pilates certification through Club Pilates. I also studied the classical Pilates method with additional training from Peak Pilates. I have continued teaching ever since. I am very passionate to continue understanding how the body moves and adapts. In 2022, I expanded my training with a Lagree certification, and in 2026 became a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist.

Pilates changed my perspective on what movement could look and feel like. It taught me to slow down and move with mindfulness while still continuously challenging me in my practice. There is always something new to learn and new ways to grow. It has really helped me to feel my best. Pilates has given me a deeper appreciation for taking care of the body we have and moving in a way that supports us through every season of life.

Over the years, one of my favorite parts of teaching has been getting to know my classes and watching them become stronger and more confident in their movement. It's so rewarding to watch someone recognize their progress and help them discover just how much they are capable of. With every class I teach, I hope everyone walks away learning something new and feeling more connected to the way they move.

That's a huge part of why I created Align.

I wanted to build a studio where Pilates feels intentional, challenging, and enjoyable. I didn't just want to open another Pilates studio, I wanted to take everything I've learned as both an instructor and a client and create something thoughtfully designed with everyone in mind. I have always valued the sense of community that comes with Pilates, and I wanted to create a space where people can build friendships, feel supported, and grow in their practice.

When I am not teaching or practicing Pilates, you can usually find me outside hiking, golfing, traveling, spending time with friends & family, or planning my next adventure!
